Easy BBQ Chicken Foil Packets with Potatoes & Onions
These delicious BBQ chicken foil packets with potatoes and onions are easy to make and packed with flavor!
Fill your packets with chicken, sliced russet potatoes, sliced onions, Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ sauce, salt and pepper.
Simply prep your ingredients, layer them in foil packets and place in the oven at 375 degrees F for 35 minutes!
Once the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, check the potatoes to see if they are cooked to your liking. Remove from the oven and top your foil packets with all of your favorite toppings!
I love to add
shredded cheddar cheese,
sour cream, bacon bits
and chives!
SUBSTITUTE: You may substitute the russet potatoes for sweet potatoes if desired!
I usually bake my foil packets in the oven, but they can be put on the BBQ pit as well. If you decide to grill your packets, just remember to be sure your chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.

Easy BBQ Chicken Potato Foil Packets
These delicious BBQ chicken potato foil packets are easy to make and packed with flavor! Layer your ingredients in the foil packet and place in the oven for approximately 35 minutes!
- 1 package Reynold's Wrap aluminum foil
- 2 russet potatoes
- 3 chicken breasts ((boneless skinless))
- 1/2 yellow onion
- 1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ Sauce
- salt & pepper ((to taste))
- 1 cup shredded chedder cheese ((optional topping))
- 1 bunch green onion ((optional topping))
- 1 small tub sour cream ((optional topping))
- 1 package bacon bits ((optional topping))

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Layout 4 pieces of foil on your workspace. Approximately 12"x18" rectangle.

Spray the center of each piece of foil with non stick cooking spray.

Wash 2 potatoes and thinly slice them.

Divide your slices of potatoes into 4 equal parts and lay each part onto the center of your four pieces of foil.

Cut your chicken breasts into strips, divide into 4 parts and lay over the potatoes on each foil packet.

Next, thinly slice the yellow onion, divide into 4 parts and lay over the strips of chicken breasts.

Drizzle Sweet Baby Ray's Honey BBQ Sauce over top the contents of your foil packet.

Place in the oven for 35 minutes, or until the center of the chicken pieces reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit.

Remove from oven, open foil packets and add 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese on each foil packet.

Return to oven for 5 minutes.

Once foil packets are removed from the oven, top with all your favorite toppings! Sour cream, bacon bits and chives are my go to toppings!
